Speech Courses

From Within Performing Arts Academy offers two Speech & Drama Courses: ‘MY VOICE’ and ‘OUR VOICE’. Details of each course can be found below. Students are able to enrol in both courses.

A) ‘MY VOICE’: Tailored Speech & Drama Classes / AMEB Exam Classes


Upon completion of the online enquiry form, these tailored classes are carefully programmed to meet the individual needs of the students attending. Such areas of focus may include confidence building, speech defects / impediments, vocal tone, vocal projection, correct posture and breathing, articulation, pronunciation, vocal modulation, public speaking skills, facial expression, mime and acting skills. Students are also provided with the opportunity to undertake speech eisteddfods as well as the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) Speech & Drama exams. Note: These lessons take place at the Strathfield studio. However for an additional 0.75cents/km From Within will provide lessons AT YOUR HOME.

B) ‘OUR VOICE’: Group Speech & Drama Classes

These group classes follow a dynamic programme that develops various elements of speech including pitch, emphasis, dynamics, pause, pace, intonation, projection and articulation. These classes provide a strong focus on drama where students will learn a variety of poems, character sketches, verses, scripts and more. Students will undertake a wide variety of drama games and activities working individually, in pairs and in groups. These classes also teach skills for script and poetry writing. Students will have the opportunity to create their own drama works and present these works at various events throughout the year. Students are also provided with the opportunity to enter into speech eisteddfods as a group, pair or individually. Areas of eisteddfods include mime, character sketches, poems to two, monologues, duologues and more.
